1989 Convention - St. Charles (Chicago), Illinois

A lovely suburb of Chicago, St. Charles, Illinois, was the location for the fifteenth Annual NDGA Convention. The Convention was held at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles on July 7-9, 1989. Show Chairman was Dan Kramer.

Special Guests at the Convention were Teri Steele, editor of The DAZE, and Betty and Bill Newbound, authors of the books on Blue Ridge.

The Annual Meeting was held on Friday night, July 8, and was followed by a "Get Acquainted Party" at the Atrium Lounge. The Staturday night Banquet was in the form of a sunset picnic, held at the Savannah West on July 8.

Glass and Pottery Displays

There were a number of displays presented in Chicago, but we don't have an exact list available. We know that there were exhibits of a number of DG patterns, plus Akro Agate, Fiesta, Fenton, Heisey, Royal Lace cobalt, Swirl Ultramarine and Cambridge Wildflower.
